On return to Fine Art in 2010 from Dance Performance, and, starting with experimental drawing and mixed media works as my primal point of departure, my present works are marked by a fresh re-engagement with the medium of Welsh Slate employing techniques predominantly of fretwork and relief carving.

The ‘screen like’ element in these works, lightly influenced by earlier works or works that, though presenting a dividing flat surface or plane one can ‘see through’, is again recruited as a metaphor or symbol of Perception.

Generally I wish these works to be viewed as Objects of Contemplation. In other words that they should act as a Catalyst directly stimulating the mind and imagination of the spectator according to their own experience and perception of life.
